What the catalog contains
The catalog is based on a public HackerTube export published on October 31, 2026. It links each listed video to its topic labels, aggregate recommendation counts, and available Hacker News discussion records. The export contains 6,454 video records; SignalTube currently indexes the 6,386 videos listed in the source sitemap. The site excludes records outside that public list. Additional YouTube availability checks will be applied only after verified API metadata is available.
What is verified
The source export does not include verified YouTube runtimes, upload dates, view counts, or current availability. Until a YouTube Data API refresh is configured, SignalTube leaves those values unknown instead of guessing from titles or Hacker News mention dates. Hacker News years describe when commenters linked a video; they are not the video's publication year.
Attribution and limits
Catalog data is attributed to HackerTube and the open-index/hacker-news archive under the Open Data Commons Attribution License (ODC-By) 1.0. Hacker News comments remain the work of their authors; video titles and channel names belong to their creators. Source labels and summaries may be incomplete or inaccurate. SignalTube's video pages use aggregate fields and short original discussion notes; they do not republish comment bodies.
