The public HackerTube export is designed to be reused. Review its field guide and attribution terms, then build a viewer or analysis for your own use.

What the export contains

• Video records with title, channel, Hacker News recommendation counts, and topic labels.
• Labeled Hacker News mentions with comment IDs and source URLs.
• A 16-area taxonomy with 150 topics and a co-recommendation graph.

What must be fetched separately

Video duration, view count, upload date, and current availability are not included in the export. Add those fields only from a verified source and keep missing values unknown.

Attribution

The dataset is attributed to HackerTube and open-index/hacker-news under ODC-By 1.0. Comments and video metadata retain their creators’ rights and applicable platform terms.
